Earlier this winter, it felt time to visit old friends in Bozeman, Montana. Even with a lack of recent snowfall I knew I had a few free skiable days lefts at both Bridger Bowl and Big Sky, and with no real reason not to go I tossed my pal Newman reluctantly in the truck and set out before sunrise.
STAFF FEATURE // Meet the woman behind the beer, Nina Schoofs! Nina works five days a week and sometimes more brewing the delicious beer our Payette fans love to enjoy! Originally from a home brewing household in Minnesota, Nina has always had a passion for beer pioneering. Once she realized her passion could become her profession she weaseled her way into the beer industry and thankfully made her way to us, here at Payette. Nina is an amazing lady with many talents as well as other hobbies and passions outside of Payette Brewing.

Here at Payette, we like to live by the motto Adventure’s Brewing. This not only influences the beer that we brew but the culture we cultivate in our Tap Room that extends throughout the community. Whether it be the people we hire to the local charities and organizations we choose to support, adventure is never far away.

If you’re a Boise-native, you might have a better understanding of the name behind this beer. The Oregon Trail, the longest historic overland migration trail in North American and, yes, a wildly popular computer video game in the 1970’s, took a route through Boise in the 1800’s. Throughout Boise there are several monuments that commemorate The Oregon Trail and one of those is Slaughterhouse Gulch.
