Meet One of Payette’s Valued Employees
Staff Feature: Logan Burke
One of the kindest souls with a hardworking mentality
As we’ve mentioned before, here at Payette Brewing, we’re lucky enough to work with a diverse and incredibly talented production team. Logan Burke is one we can confidently call a true Jack-of-all-trades when it comes to the production team at Payette Brewing Co. Logan is an Idaho native originally born in Pocatello but has called Boise home for over 20 years, and has been with Payette for 5.
Like many of us in the industry, it wasn’t always his intention to craft a life revolved around the production of beer, but an eclectic series of past jobs that eventually led him in this direction. Having worked previously in sales, as a welder, and several stints in the service industry in both food and alcohol service, all it took was a good friend and another employee at Payette to get his foot in the door. He seemingly got in at the right time, just as the beer scene in Boise really got going.
While his official job title at Payette is Maintenance Lead, you will most likely find Logan tinkering with and repairing any number of machines and equipment in our facility to make sure things continue to run smoothly for the rest of the team. However, given his extensive repertoire of skills, you might also find him manning the canning line, transferring beer to and from tanks, making local beer deliveries, or helping out our brewers and Quality Control team. There’s also a good chance he’s rocking out on his acoustic guitar in the lab during a rare period of down time.
As with most of our production team, Logan is always willing to stop and take a minute to share his knowledge and educate any one of us on the processes and inner workings of our brewery… That is, if you can get him to stop moving. That adds to the tight knit and family-like atmosphere we’ve built and is one of his favorite things about working at Payette.
His passion for delicious beer runs deep and Logan is no stranger to seeking out the next, most bitter and hoppy IPA he can find and sharing it with the rest of us. Outside of Payette, and sometimes inside, he feeds his thirst for creativity by playing music and going to shows, and also putting down some impressive drawings in that little black book of his.
While you never know where a job in the craft beer industry might take you, Logan is dedicated to learning everything he can and using those skills in his time with us, and it really shows when you watch him at work.
Cheers to 5 years with this hard working guy… We’re lucky to call him a co-worker and a friend!
